In season 4, episode 2, The Big Bang Theory boldly went in two horrifying directions that I never would have expected. First, Sheldon farts. Twice. Really loudly. Canned laughter ensues, but at my house, it was met with a decided wtf facial expression complete with a single raised eyebrow a la Spock.

Secondarily, Sheldon uses a robot known as Shel-bot to interact with the cast. Suffice it to say, the robot didn't have the legendary appeal and timing of Jim Parsons. Some fans have called the episode cringe-worthy, while others thought it was hilarious.
